ISSN (printed): 1051-1733. ISSN (electronic): 1938-5315.

The Northwestern Naturalist is the official journal of the Society for Northwestern Vertebrate Biology. Originally published as the Murrelet, it is recognized as the best source of early biological studies in the Pacific Northwest. The tri-annual journal publishes peer-reviewed original contributions dealing with the biology of birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles in the western United States and Canada. The Northwestern Naturalist continues a 70-year tradition of accepting feature articles and general notes on the basis of high scientific merit. The journal also publishes distributional records, including first and second occurrence reports for this major biogeographical region. A 68-year cumulative index (1920-1988) is now available at reduced rates for new members; it may also be purchased by non-members.
