Journal of Religious Gerontology
J Relig Gerontol

ISSN (printed): 1050-2289. ISSN (electronic): 1528-686X.

The Journal of Religious Gerontology is an interdisciplinary, interfaith, professional journal in which the needs, aspirations, and resources of elder constituencies come clearly into focus. Combining practical innovation and scholarly insight, the journal offers timely information and probing articles on such subjects as ethical issues, death, long-term care for the elderly, support systems for families of the elderly, retirement, counseling, and more. The journal aims to inform religious professionals--pastors, religious educators, chaplains, lay spiritual care leaders, and pastoral counselors--about developments in the field of religious gerontology. A second purpose of the journal is to inform secular professionals, such as administrators, social workers, nurses, physicians, and recreation and rehabilitative therapists who work with elderly people and their families within the context of religious institutions. A third goal is to focus the attention of the traditional academic disciplines within religion on aging. Articles are selected based on a high level of scholarship and relevance to the practitioner.
