International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture

ISSN: 1047-1979.

This was the first English-language journal aimed at improving practitioners' clinical skills. In its pages practitioners will find practical information that can be invaluable in their clinical practice. Most of the articles are from China and they report on diseases that are commonly seen in Western acupuncture practice. Many of the studies involve large numbers of patients that practitioners in the West are not always able to see. Also, Eastern treatment combined with Western diagnostic equipment can yield very valuable information to which Western practitioners of oriental medicine do not often have access. Although the journal has a clinical bent, such topics as acupuncture theory and mechanism research are regularly covered, together with papers that help to integrate acupuncture into conventional medical practice.
