Tirra Lirra publishes a wide range of material including oral history, natural history, science articles, ethnic studies, cultural studies, book reviews, film reviews, essays, short fictions and poetry. Contributors include poets, well-known essayists, and noted Australian writers. Tirra Lirra has published poems in English, Mandarin, Dutch, German, Celtic and Spanish. High quality art work, photographic essays and graphics are continuing features of the publication. Tirra Lirra aims to encourage and to hone the work of new writers and to give them the opportunity to be published in a quality journal. Tirra Lirra has been fortunate to have well-known established writers submit their work and allow it to be published. Tirra Lirra is politically unaligned and allows the expression of many diverse opinions.
