Osteologie/Osteology is an interdisciplinary journal for continuing education in the field of osteology. The Journal publishes Theme Issues with review articles, original articles, case reports and short communications in German and English on all areas dealing experimentally or clinically with diseases of the locomotor system, especially those of the bones and joints. The Journal is the official organ of the Dachverband Osteologie e.V. of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteologie and the Orthopädische Gesellschaft für Osteologie, and contains their guidelines, news and reports from the working groups. Further regularly published categories are "Der Osteologe DVO", which deals with questions concerning continuing education and certification for "Osteologen DVO", "Osteoporose update", carefully selected and commented reviews of the current literature as well as highlights from research and industry. Osteologie/Osteology is targeted at specialists in clinics and medical practices who deal with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment (conservative, surgical, endoprothetic) of bone and joint diseases, especially in the areas of orthopaedics, internal and general medicine as well as rheumathology.
