Tsinghua University is one of the most famous universities in China. At present, Tsinghua University is a comprehensive university with science, engineering, management, humanities and social science, and law curriculums. Currently, the university consists of 49 departments distributed in 14 schools. The university has over 7100 faculty and staff (with over 1000 full professors and 1700 associate professors) including 25 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 24 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Tsinghua University is also one of the most important centers for scientific research in China. About 2000 research projects are conducted in the university each year. Presently, Tsinghua University has over 20000 students, and is pressing on towards a world-class university in the 21st century. To further promote international academic interchange, the university established Tsinghua Science and Technology in 1996. It is in English and published home and abroad. From July 2001, Tsinghua Science and Technology has been extended to a bimonthly journal. The Journal mainly publishes research articles that reflect the latest achievements of basic theory and experimental studies in fields of science and engineering. The articles include reviews, research papers, communications, etc., which are written by scientists at Tsinghua University and other Chinese institutions, and oversea famous scientists, such as Chen Ning Yang (Nobel Prize winner, USA) and Leo Esaki (Nobel Prize winner, Japan).
