Current Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Curr Obstet Gynaecol

ISSN: 0957-5847.

Current Obstetrics & Gynaecology is changing its format, re-launching for 2001 to provide relevant, up to date, review and reference material for candidates for MRCOG Part II and Specialists in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Each issue will contain three articles on obstetric topics in a linked theme, and similarly, three articles on gynaecological topics in a separate linked theme. Over three years at six issues a year these main articles will cover the full range of knowledge and practice in obstetrics, gynaecology and allied subjects at a level suitable for MRCOG Part II candidates. This will also be invaluable for Specialists in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, both in their role as trainers of MRCOG candidates and in keeping up to date across the broad span of the subject area. In each issue two other articles will deal with specific clinical problems, bringing together the knowledge and practice from several areas and demonstrating how these are applied to common or difficult clinical presentations. This is particularly important for MRCOG candidates and trainers, as a large proportion of the new style examination is focused on this type of exercise. Each issue will also include an example of the type of essay question set in MRCOG Part II with a model answer, together with true/false and clinical problem self-assessments. Articles are being prepared by authoritative authors, recognised experts writing on topics of interest, discussing solid, up to date mainstream knowledge and practice. They review the evidence on how clinical problems are managed and why. Over any three year period subscription will ensure access to up to date, understandable information on the full range of current obstetrics and gynaecology.
