The journal covers the dynamics and mechanisms of sexual processes in all plant groups including algae fungi mosses and ferns as well as flowering plants. The following topics are included: differentiation of sexes including meiosis differentiation of male and female gametophytes gene expression during male and female gametophyte development biotechnological use of pollen pollen-stigma interaction recognition and interaction of gametes events of fertilization mechanisms of gamete attraction and fusion mechanisms of incompatibility and incongruity breeding technology of sexual systems overcoming breeding barriers application and mechanisms of gametocides mechanisms of apomixis and other sex derivatives. Primary emphasis is placed on the experimental approach using biochemical molecular biophysical and immunological methods but descriptive reports based on submicroscopical and cytochemical methods are not excluded. Special attention is given to the application of new insights in sexual systems for aquaculture of algae biotechnology of microorganisms and plant breeding.
