European Journal of Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice
Eur J Crime Crim Law Crim Justice

ISSN (printed): 0928-9569. ISSN (electronic): 1571-8174.

Crime, criminal law and criminal justice are more than ever on the political agenda of the European institutions, above all the European Union and the Council of Europe. This is not only because of the increasingly vehement debate on transnational crime problems in the individual Member States, but also as a consequence of the widening of the European Union and the drafting of an European Constitution, and last but not least because of the threat of terrorism. This journal is meant to be a European forum for the public academic debate on these issues that not only bridges the gap between the European institutions and the Member States, but that is also open for a non-European view on European developments in those fields. Its aim, in other words, is to offer an international and comparative perspective on crime, criminal law and criminal justice in Europe.
