The journal Molecular Engineering is an interdisciplinary medium for the publication of original articles interpretative reviews notes and letters on the latest developments in molecular engineering. Articles reflect a predictive approach based on well-defined structure-property relationships aiming at the design characterization and application of organic molecules and molecular materials endowed with specific functions. Molecular engineering is to be understood in a twofold sense. Firstly the optimization of molecules supermolecules and macromolecules towards specific functions. Secondly the organization of molecular units in larger ensembles (from molecular aggregates to condensed phases) either displaying collective properties or promoting relevant properties of the molecular unit at the macroscopic level.
