The aims of the series are: i) to contribute to the promotion, analysis and better understanding of Australian Drama in Australia and overseas; ii) in the monographs to give an overview of a particular playwright's life and work and a critical analysis of his/her plays; iii) in the video programmes to let the dramatists speak themselves, to illustrate and personalise their work for better understanding, especially by overseas students. Each monograph focuses on the life and work of one major playwright with further references to primary and secondary sources and with an Appendix consisting of the transcript of the video interview.
