Discontinued in 1990. Philosophy in Context was a peer-reviewed journal established as an experiment in teaching, to make good philosophical work more accessible to students and non-professionals. The editors recognized that most philosophical work is written for other philosophers, not for the student audience that professional philosophers most frequently address. The journal therefore published original essays on topics of current interest, directed primarily toward philosophy students and scholars in other disciplines. This journal was published 1972-1990 by the Department of Philosophy at Cleveland State University.
