The Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment provides school psychologists current information regarding psychological and educational assessment practices, legal mandates, and instrumentation. The Journal is known internationally for the quality of assessment-related research published, theory and position papers, interviews with leaders in the field, and book and test reviews. JPA emphasizes methodologically sound, empirically based studies, and publishes articles of interest to all assessment specialists, including practicing psychologists, educational diagnosticians, special educators, and academic trainers. JPA's topics include cross-cultural assessment practices, differential diagnoses, dynamic assessment, neuropsychology, and psychometric properties of instruments. Of particular interest are papers that focus on innovative assessment strategies, relationships among existing instruments, diagnostic procedures, and relationship between assessment and instruction. Issues related to assessment of the following constructs and skills are routinely addressed: achievement, adaptive behavior, classroom behaviors, creativity, motor skills, intelligence, language skills, memory, personality, social skills, and vocational abilities.
