The Annuaire Roumain d'Anthropologie (formerly PROBLEME DE ANTROPOLOGIE) was founded in 1952 by the section of Biology of the Romanian Academy. It appeared under its first name until 1963, received the present name of Annuaire Roumain d'Anthropologie in 1964; since 1990 it has been issued under the aegis of the Section of Medical Sciences of the Romanian Academy. It is now published in one volume a year, consisting of 100 pages. The journal publishes original papers, preferably written in French, but also in English, German or Italian, in any area of pure and applied Physical and Social Anthropology. The topics cover all branches of Anthropology: Paleo-Anthropology, Biologic Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Social and Cultural Anthropology, Theoretical Anthropology, Human Ethology, Forensic Anthropology, Applied Anthropology. The Annuaire Roumain d'Anthropologie also publishes the proceedings of international conferences held in Romania, survey articles, excellent Ph.D. theses and book reviews. The Editors will put strong emphasis on originality and applicability of the results. All manuscripts are strictly refereed and only papers of high quality are accepted for publication. The journal is addressed to all pure and applied applied Physical and Social anthropologists and to other specialists interested in modern developments of Anthropology and in using Anthropology in research, teaching and technology. At present the journal has a number of 47 subscriptions and about 70 exchanges with journals of repute from all over the world.
