Studies and Papers of Modern History was created in 1957 at the Nicolae Iorga History Institute of the Romanian Academy. It has preserved its initial name to this day. It is currently published in one issue per year containing 200 pages. It is abstracted in "Historical Abstracts", Bibliography of the World Historical Literature ABC-Clio, Santa Barbara (USA), Oxford (England). The journal publishes studies and papers on major issues of Romanian and world modern history, generally in Romanian language. On the occasion of important historical anniversaries and commemorations, studies and papers devoted to the event under focus, thematically grouped, are included.
