Hystrix - The Italian Journal of Mammalogy (It. J. Mammal.) is a peer reviewed journal that accepts papers on original research in basic and applied mammalogy concerning living and fossil mammals. It. J. Mammal. publishes field studies, analytical and modelling studies, theoretical and empirical papers and review articles. Manuscripts can be published as extensive articles and reviews (without page, figures and tables limits), and as short communications. Proceedings of symposia, meetings, workshops, synthesis of bachelor, master or PhD thesis and technical reports can be published with the approval by the Editor in Chief and the Associate Editors. In order to promote mammal research in the Mediterranean area, the It. J. Mammal. particularly welcomes papers of studies in this geographical area.
