One of the oldest journals of its kind in Italy, for over a century "Diritto Ecclesiastico" has kept in touch with the many changes that have come about in relations between Church and State, with developments in legislation, doctrine (as per the analytical and alphabetical index by Prof. G. Lo Castro), civil and canon law, providing scholars and all those whose task is to apply the law, with a much needed theoretical basis. The new canonical codification, revision of the Concordat, agreements with some not Catholic churches, legislative reforms in progress and the new modes of interpretation - of special importance those concerning matrimonial questions and ecclesiastical bodies - will surely find immediate opportunity of verification in dealing with the many problems that so frequently arise in the course of professional work. With its pluralist cultural basis and keen interest in all questions of our times, Diritto Ecclesiastico can offer an authoritative forum for scientific debate and simultaneously a specialised "tool" for all those whose daily work brings them in touch with problems in this field.
