Santé mentale au Québec seeks to promote continuing education among mental health professionals and the training of college and university students within the diverse disciplines that make up this field of activity (psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing sciences, occupational therapy, etc.). Psychosocial in orientation, the journal publishes articles on research efforts and socially innovative practices submitted from Quebec, elsewhere in Canada and abroad. Founded in 1976, Santé mentale au Québec is rooted in the practicing community. Bearing the same name since its inception, it has always aimed to bring the research and practicing communities closer together, with the goal of enhancing the quality of mental health services. The journal publishes exclusively in French.
