The journal Revue Roumaine de Biologie - Série de Biologie Animale is a continuation of the "Buletin Stiintific - biologie" founded in 1948, the title having been changed in "Sudii si Cercetãri de Biologie, seria Biologie Animalã" in 1958, publishing papers in Romanian, with a summary in French or English. Starting from 1956 two distinct jurnals were published: "Studii si Cercetãri de Biologie" in Romanian and "Revue roumaine de biologie - série de biologie animale" in international languages. The journal is published in one volume a year, consisting of two issues with a total average number of 280 pages yearly. It is listed in Zoological Record. The journal publishes original papers, preferably written in English or French, but also in German and Italian, in all areas of Animal Biology: Systematics, Morphology, Physiology, Genetics, Ecology, Cell biology, Biogeography etc. In addition to presenting research papers, the journal papers also publish proceedings of scientific symposia, conferences etc. and book reviews. The journal is addressed to all scientists working in various fields on animal biology. The journal has at present a number of about 180 exchanges with journals all over the world.
