SIGPLAN explores programming language concepts and tools, focusing on design, implementation, and efficient use. Its members are programming language users, developers, implementers, theoreticians, researchers, and educators. The monthly newsletter "ACM SIGPLAN Notices" publishes several conference proceedings issues, regular columns and technical correspondence. This SIG offers an additional newsletter (FORTRAN Forum), on a subscription only basis. Areas of Special Interest: Techniques for language implementation, general-purpose and application-oriented languages, languages design, compilers, standards, and education.
