The regional section of the Serbian Medical Society in Kragujevac began publication of the Medical Journal in 1961. The Journal was published from 1961 to 1998 (volumes 1-38) and after 2005 (from the volume 47). This Medical Journal publishes original scientific, expert and review papers, case reports, works from history of medicine and book reviews. Papers, received to the address of the Journal, are liable to anonymous reviews. In order to be accepted for publishing, a paper must have positive reviews by two reviewers, as a rule, by two professors of the University. In addition to four regular issues, each volume of the Medical Journal has one or two supplements. These are thematic issues in which paper abstracts are published most often that are presented at congresses of doctors (such as October Health Days), and sometimes chosen papers are published on the whole.
