The DIW (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung/German Institute for Economic Research) is one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany. The results of the institute's research work are presented in the Economic Bulletin. The bulletin provides monthly coverage of important German economic issues. It includes the DIW forecast of the West and Eastern German economy and analyses of economies in Central and Eastern Europe. A further focus is on European integration and the world economy. At the beginning of each year a complete issue is devoted to a comprehensive annual forecast of the German and the world economy. This forecast is updated in the summer. Also included are the two forecasts from the "Six Institute Joint Analysis". The Economic Bulletin offers a valuable source of information for economists politicians decisionmakers in banks administration and politics and for managers in large companies interested in economic policy.
