Since 1972, the Nietzsche-Studien provide an international forum for the questions directed at Nietzsche. The yearbook was founded by Mazzino Montinari, Wolfgang Müller-Lauter, and Heinz Wenzel and is now edited by Günter Abel, Josef Simon, and Werner Stegmaier. Philosophical discussions are the main focus of the Nietzsche-Studien. However, the Nietzsche reception of other disciplines such as classical studies, literary stud ies or theology are also considered, thus providing an integrative approach to this outstanding philosopher. The Nietzsche-Studien, therefore, serve not just the ideas of any one school or direction, rather introduce various different approaches to interpreting Nietzsche. The yearbook publishes documentations, essays, lectures, short articles, and reviews of selected publications about Nietzsche. Each volume is completed by a name index, an index of Nietzsche quotes and an index of the reviewed or cited Nietzsche literature. The first complete index to the Nietzsche-Studien, covering volumes 1-20, was published in 2000.
