The periodical Annalen des Historischen Vereins für den Niederrhein is one of the oldest regional historical periodicals of the Rhineland. The articles deal with the whole rhenish history since the end of Antiquity and – in spatial terms –with the area of the old Archdiocese of Cologne, which goes beyond the Lower Rhine Region. In addition to an articles section, the "Annalen" offer an extensive review section with recensions of important publications dealing with rhenish history.
