Empirica publishes articles and papers dealing with all kinds of problems relevant to economic policy focusing principally on three areas of research: industrial economics; economic integration; and economic policy. Industrial economics includes all aspects of industrial organization. Topics range from the traditional micro issues of market structure and performance to game-theoretic models of usefulness for applied research. Macroeconomic implications of industrial structure are also covered as are international comparisons and the various forms of regulation. Economic integration covers international and national economic issues relevant to the process of economic integration in Europe includes analyses of Western European integration as well as all aspects of integrating the Eastern European 'economies in transition' into the world market economy. The economic policy forum emphasizes all economic policy problems of international significance and of national experiences which are important for policy makers and a wider audience in other countries. Papers from workshops and small symposia form an important part of this section. Empirica is open to all contributions having no preference for a particular viewpoint or school of thought.
