The aim of the Journal of Intelligent Systems is to publish articles in the field of intelligent systems. This field includes artificial intelligence, models and computational theories of human cognition, perception and motivation, as well as brain models, artificial neural networks, pattern recognition, neural computing and evolutionary computing. The aim is to provide a common scientific forum for all the different disciplines contributing to this area, ranging from the social, human and computer sciences to the analysis and application of information technology. The journal also covers critical analysis of new technological systems developed to display intelligence, addresses understanding of intelligent systems as well as philosophical questions that arise. All papers should be written in a way that is intelligible and interesting to an interdisciplinary readership. The Journal of Intelligent Systems publishes research papers, reviews as well as short research communications, essays, and book reviews. Proposals for special topic issues are also encouraged. Outlines will receive the immediate attention of the Editors and decisions will be reached as quickly as possible.
