European Journal of Engineering Education is published four times a year in print and electronic editions. European Journal of Engineering Education provides an essential forum for dialogue between researchers in the field of engineering education. European Journal of Engineering Education is the Official Journal of SEFI, the Société Européenne pour la Formation des Ingénieurs (the European Society for Engineering Education). SEFI is a non-governmental organization whose aims are to develop information about engineering education, to improve communication and exchange between professors, researchers and students and to promote cooperation between the various institutions concerned with engineering education. For more information, visit: http://www.sefi.be European Journal of Engineering Education examines the economic, cultural, and social factors which influence the education of engineers in different societies and provides a forum in which teachers in engineering schools, institutions and industry can share accounts of good practice and discuss methodology. Technological change constantly creates new demands on both engineers and the educational system that produces them. This journal contributes to the development and improvement of engineering education necessary to meet those demands. We publish, from time to time, special themed issues, each with a specially appointed Guest Editor, which concentrate on a theme which is of general value to everyone involved in engineering education and which also have particular applications within the different engineering disciplines. The structure and organization of the Journal The Journal welcomes research papers and review articles with a theoretical grounding. Papers will typically be between 5000 and 8000 words, debating and exploring theoretical and methodological issues, methodological approaches, and substantive topics. However, there is not necessarily an upper limit on length, and authors of longer papers are encouraged to contact the Editor with a synopsis. Papers may be submitted in English, French, or German, the official languages of SEFI.
