An Official Journal of the International Federation of Robotics Robotica provides an international forum for the multidisciplinary subject of robotics and encourages developments in this important field of automation with regard to industry education and research. On a global scale it covers the many aspects of robotics including sensory perception software (in the widest sense but particularly in regard to programming languages and links with master computers and CAD/CAM systems) kinematics and dynamics involved in robot design robot task planning and description intelligibility of skilled motion applications of robots in the service industries (health nuclear security cleaning etc.) world model representation artificial intelligence development of relevant educational courses training methods analysis of courses analysis of managerial and social policy economic and cost problems and items of theoretical and practical interest. Particular stress is laid on practical applications of theoretical concepts in the industrial field and also on many aspects of artificial intelligence and its impact on automation. As well as original papers the journal publishes research notes book reviews conference reports letters announcements of conferences and R & D profiles. Special issues by guest editors experts in their fields present in-depth surveys of key developments. In addition current news in the robotics field is reported in the Reports and Surveys section. Contributions from experts from five continents make Robotica a truly international journal of repute.
