European Science Editing is a quarterly international peer-reviewed scientific journal serving a platform for science communication between experts in science editing and writing. ESE is the official publication of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE). The journal publishes original research papers, comprehensive reviews, editorials, viewpoints, conference reports, news notes, letters-to-the-editor and other items on topics related to science editing, including, but not limited to, those in the field of biomedicine. The journal also Includes advertising, book reviews, software reviews. First published in 1986, the journal was published three times yearly until 2001, when publication moved to a quarterly schedule, with issues in February, May, August and November. Former titles (until 1986): Earth & Life Science Editing (Finland) (0309-4715); (until 1977): Earth Science Editing (Finland) (0950-1835). From 2006 onwards, all issues are available in electronic format. ESE has a circulation of more than 1000 journal editors, copy editors, commercial and learned society/university press publishers, science translators and indexers, and others.
