Academe, the bimonthly magazine of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), analyzes higher education issues from faculty members' perspectives. Feature articles in the magazine cover topics such as academic freedom, shared governance, tenure, faculty work, intellectual property, affirmative action, and distance education. Academe also contains reviews of new scholarly books, Association news, reports, and opinion columns. The March-April issue contains the AAUP's Annual Report on the Economic Status of the Profession. Prior to 1979, the magazine was published as the Bulletin of the American Association of University Professors; in 2010, the Bulletin was restarted as a separate annual publication (also available through JSTOR) that contains official Association reports.
