New Forests

New Forests publishes papers dealing with fundamental and applied aspects of afforestation and reforestation for an audience comprising forest scientists foresters nursery managers conservationists and students in temperate and tropical countries. Emphasis is placed on papers presenting the results of original research or the development of a theory or technique. Reviews on important topics are also welcome. Papers concern such subjects as the physiology genetics ecology economics protection and management of six stages of afforestation and reforestation: 1.) plant propagation including sexual and asexual methods; 2.) nursery cultural practices; 3.) handling planting and stock quality; 4.) matching stock types species and seed sources to sites; 5.) site preparation and 6.) early stand growth and development. Papers concern both artificial and natural afforestation and reforestation including natural seeding direct seeding coppice and planting. Papers concern advances related to commercial forestry as well as to site protection conservation and agroforestry.
