Jurnal Komunikasi, Malaysian Journal of Communication is published annually by the School of Media and Communication Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. It was first conceptualized in 1982 and ever since then it has grown by leaps and bounds. Beginning 2005, the name Malaysian Journal of Communication was added to the existing title of the journal. The added name signifies the plight and effort to embody the aspiration and niche of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to achieve better recognition and world standards. Jurnal Komunikasi is the pioneering journal for media and communication studies in Malaysia and the South East Asia Region. It has garnered and published research articles authored by renown scholars both locally and internationally. It has positioned itself as the journal for media and communication studies in this region due to the vigorous reviewing process of articles by both local and international scholars. Its advisory editorial board comprises of local and international recognized scholars in media and communication studies. The advisory board gives input to improve and position Jurnal Komunikasi to its present stature. Its content covers current issues in media and communication research, addressing global and local concerns. While theoretical articles are invited, the journal places higher value on research based articles. It opens its door to articles from the various epistemological, ontological, methodological and axiological perspectives.
