The Romanistische Jahrbuch (RJb)is the only scientific journal to regularly provide information about the representation of Romance languages, literature and art history at German and Austrian universities and to systematically compile accepted doctoral dissertations and postdoctoral theses, as well as dissertation projects currently in progress at German-speaking universities. In the first section of the book, in addition to current reviews, essays on central questions from linguistics and literary science with Romance-language-comparative or single-language subject matter are regularly published. The second half of the book is dedicated to current problems concerning the Iberoromance languages (Spanish/Portuguese within and outside of Europe, Catalan); reviews, like research reports, present the respective current state of research. With a total of 56 volumes published to date, the RJb is one of the most important publications of its field with a very rich tradition.
