Published since 1902, the Jahrbuch des Freien Deutschen Hochstifts comprises source publications and text analyses on German literature from the 18th to the 20th century. Boundaries to adjoining disciplines are left open. The main emphasis of the yearbook is on the research and collections of the institute whose focus, in turn, is on Goethe, Hofmannsthal and the Age of Romanticism. An extensive annual report documents the achievements of the archive, library, graphic collection, museum and editorial offices.
