Fonetica si Dialectologie

The journal Fonetica si Dialectologie (Phonetics and Dialectology) was founded in 1958 by the Section of Philology of the Romanian Academy, editor in chief Al. Rosetti. It is now published in one volume a year, with a total average member of 300 pages. The journal presents the works elaborated in the "Al. Rosetti" Phonetics and Dialectology Institute of the Romanian Academy, in Bucharest, and also the works of the same type elaborated by other Romanian or foreign specialists. The journal publishes original papers preferably written in Romanian but also in English, French, German or Italian. The fields approached are: descriptive, historical and general phonetics and phonology, Romanian and Romance dialectology, sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics. The studies deal with the spoken Romanian language in Romania and abroad, especially at the dialectal level. The journal also includes materials on dialects, reviews of recently published linguistic works, bibliographical notes and information concerning scientific events in the country and abroad. Each article written in Romanian is followed by a summary in a language of international circulation. The Editors will put strong emphasis on the originality of the results. All manuscripts are strictly refereed and only papers of high quality are accepted for publication. The journal has at present a number of about 200 exchanges with journals of repute from all over the world.
