Children's Literature in Education is today's foremost source for stimulating articles and interviews on noted children's authors incisive critiques of classic and contemporary writing for young readers and original articles describing successful classroom reading projects. In addition the journal offers timely reviews on a variety of reading-related topics for teachers and teachers-in-training librarians writers and interested parents. Originally focusing on prose and fiction for readers ten years of age and older Children's Literature in Education has grown to reflect the field's shifts in emphasis over the past quarter century. In response to the resurgence of interest in poetry the journal expanded its coverage to include articles on children's poetry. The exciting innovations in picture books likewise inspired numerous articles examining this key literary form.
