Discontinued in 1989. Continued by American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly (1051-3558). The New Scholasticism was established in 1927 as the official journal of the American Catholic Philosophical Association. For over sixty years this peer-reviewed journal published scholarly articles, topical discussions, and book reviews dealing with all philosophical areas and approaches. The New Scholasticism published contributions from a wide range of authors, including Mortimer Adler, Lewis White Beck, David Burrell, W. Norris Clarke, Frederick Copleston, Daniel Dahlstrom, Jude P. Dougherty, Lewis S. Ford, Étienne Gilson, Martin Heidegger, Quentin Lauer, Ralph M. McInerny, Wilfrid Parsons, Wilfrid Sellars, Robert Sokolowski, Leo Strauss, and Roland Teske. Members of the American Catholic Philosophical Association have online access to all issues as a benefit of ACPA membership.
