Published for the History Department National University of Singapore Established for over 30 years Journal of Southeast Asian Studies is one of the principal outlets for scholarly articles in the humanities and social sciences dealing with Southeast Asia. Incorporating a wide range of academic disciplines the Journal covers all aspects of Southeast Asia defined as Brunei Cambodia Indonesia Laos Malaysia Myanmar The Philippines Singapore Thailand and Vietnam. It covers a wide range of academic disciplines and seeks to embrace both specialists and non-specialists in its various subject areas. In addition to scholarly research articles the Journal publishes 60 to 70 book reviews per year including works written in Southeast Asian languages.
