The Journal of American Indian Education is a peer reviewed scholarly journal, which publishes papers specifically related to the education of American socsci.natamer and Alaska Natives. While the focus of the Journal is on basic applied research, manuscripts that are expository in nature and present an explicative or interpretive perspective are considered for publication as well. JAIE is particularly interested in publishing manuscripts that express the viewpoint of AI/AN and research that is initiated, conducted, and interpreted by natives. JAIE was founded in 1961, and has been published continuously since. It is published three times yearly in Fall, Winter and Spring by the Center for Indian Education of the College of Education at Arizona State University. The Journal is refereed by Native educators and experts in various academic disciplines.
