Jewish Social Studies
Jew Soc Stud

ISSN (printed): 0021-6704. ISSN (electronic): 1527-2028.

Recognizing the increasingly fluid methodological and disciplinary boundaries within the humanities, Jewish Social Studies is particularly interested both in exploring different approaches to Jewish history and in critical inquiry into the concepts and theoretical stances that underpin its problematics. Monographic and synthesizing approaches, issues of identity and peoplehood, the vistas opened by the integration of gender as a primary category in the study of history, the multiplicities inherent in the paths of evolution of Jewish societies and cultures around the globe and over time are themes of prime interest to the journal. It publishes specific case studies, engages in theoretical discussion, and advances the understanding of Jewish life as well as the multifaceted narratives that constitute its historiography.
