Over the decades since its foundation Higher Education has followed education in universities technical colleges polytechnics adult educational institutes specialist institutions and many other research institutes throughout the world. Contributions have been published from authors in many different countries with an appropriately strong representation from North America. Articles have tackled the problems of teachers as well as of students of planners as well as administrators and have reviewed long-standing systems as well as new ideas for the future. Each country may have its own education system but it is clear that the critical issues in higher education are shared by teachers and researchers alike throughout the world.
