Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, was first published in 1944 by Walter Herdeg in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1986, B. Martin Pedersen was given the opportunity to purchase Graphis, has since further developed the magazine and books and relocated the headquarters to New York City. Graphis has upheld its reputation as the premier magazine covering graphic communications worldwide. Each issue of Graphis Magazine contains articles on the most accomplished individuals in Design, Advertising, Photography, and Illustration. Graphis is published six times per year and has a global readership.
