ISSN (printed): 0016-1136. ISSN (electronic): 2191-6349.
Frequenz was first published in 1947 with an circulation of 7000 copies, focusing on Telecommunications. Today, the major aim of Frequenz is to highlight current research activities and development efforts in RF/Microwave Engineering, Photonics and Communications throughout a wide frequency spectrum ranging from radio and microwave frequencies via THz and the infrared up to optical frequencies. RF/Microwave Engineering, Photonics and Communications is a very active area of Research & Development as well as of Applications in a wide variety of fields. It has been the key to enabling technologies responsible for phenomenal growth of satellite broadcasting, wireless communications, satellite and terrestrial mobile communications and navigation, fiber optics, high-speed optical communication systems and networks. It will open up new technologies in future cognitive, frequency-agile and software-defined radios and photonic communication systems as well as in fixed and wireless sensor networks.
