This highly respected and frequently cited journal is a prime source of information concerning developments in fetal and neonatal research. Original papers present laboratory findings from both human and animal studies covering the physiological and biochemical events taking place during the period leading up to and immediately following birth, whether fullterm or premature. In recognition of the growing possibilities for therapeutic intervention, editorial scope has expanded to include carefully selected papers on the specific clinical problems of the fetus and newborn as well as perinatal-pediatric pharmacology and drug therapy. These basic and clinically oriented investigations are supplemented by ëBrief Communicationsí, a forum for the rapid publication of short preliminary reports and observations of particular current interest.
