Alcoholism was founded in 1965. The journal publishes articles on all aspects of human use and misuse of alcohol and other addictive substances. Alcoholism publishes original scientific papers, review papers, preliminary communications, short comunications, letters to the editor, book reviews, provided that they had not been published elsewhere. All aspects of alcohol, nicotine, coffeine, and other addictive substances are wellcome; including anatomy, biochemistry, neurochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, toxicology, behavior and psychology, social, antropological, and legal aspects, and clinical problem. Alcoholism is directed towards the practitioners from all disciplines connected with addictions (medical doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, counsellors, criminologists, special educators ect.). Apart from those general interests, our special interests are in comorbid conditions of alcoholism or other substance abuse with other psychiatric disorders, as well as addiction problems in transitional countries, and mediterranean countries. Journal is published only in English, two times a year. All papers in this journal are peer-revieved. The views expressed by the authors in the papers in this journal are not necessarily the views held by either the Center for Study and Control of Alcoholism and Other Addictions, Zagreb, or International Council on Alcohol and Addictions, Lausanne. Publishing of Alcoholism is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Croatia.
